My War on the War on Woke – Continued

I started a war on the war on woke a few weeks ago with quite a sweary post. Sorry Mum! You can find that post by clicking on the button below. Again, you can find it by clicking on the button below. Both of these posts are now merging like some super ugly frothy amalgam from the blogging depths, where no-one dares to tread.

In my post on statues I wrote about the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act in vague terms. This act finally became law on or before 21 September 2022. From last week the police have new powers to arrest the criminals and lock ’em up. Yeah! And they can lock them up for longer sentences! Yay! Put those crims away and throw away the key.

Now did anyone read the small print? I didn’t. But there were two things that I did read about that I wanted to highlight:

1. The maximum prison sentence for assaulting a statue is now ten years.
2. The minimum prison sentence for various sexual assaults is now four years.

So I could assault a statue and be sent to prison for ten years. And I could sexually assault another living, breathing, thinking, feeling, shitting, crying, laughing, hugging, human being and only get four years.

Can anyone tell me what the fuck is going on? Why is our government so bent out of shape by out of shape statues that you can actually get a prison sentence for defacing one? Look, graffitiing something is wrong, destroying property is wrong, but fuck off with your ten years. These same people who want to ‘protect’ the statues, don’t actually want us to be taught about their full history. Thor forbid if children are told about the bad things these statued people did as well as the good. These frothing snowflakes who only care about their nostalgic wet dreams believe that if you tell the truth, i.e. not everything we did as an empire was good, then you are talking the country down.

Why are our priorities so screwed? When did defacing statues and the consequences thereof become more important than actual sexual assaults. What is wrong with these people that care more about the statue of Winston Churchill being defaced than other humans being assaulted? Why do I keep repeating this fucking question over and over but in different ways? Because it’s disgusting and I’m disgusted. We need to start putting more of our time and effort into ensuring that our streets and communities are safe places for all and give a fuck about statues. I do not understand the idolatry of a nostalgic memory of what came before, over what is happening now to real human beings.
