An update post this week. A week in which even the fucking shit-rag that is the Daily Mail finally informed their readers that Brexit was a poop idea. Jacob Rees ‘I’m A Haunted Pencil’ Mogg stated before the referendum that if we left the EU, then food would be cheaper. Those on the side of facts told everyone food would be more expensive, but they were shouted down with claims of ‘Project Fear!’ And yet the Daily ‘We’re Offended All the Time’ Mail who pushed Brexit on their readers, informed everyone that ‘Brits are facing higher grocery bills as post-Brexit border checks coming into force today’ Thanks guys! Who needs experts right? Silly people, what japes.
Fucking cunts.

And this is the week in which there were local elections. I would never explicitly tell you who to vote for and I would hope that in the past I have encouraged you to take up your right to vote by gently nudging you in the direction of websites where you can sign up to vote or get voter ID. Side note – Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson was turned away from voting because he didn’t have appropriate ID to vote. A policy he brought in with the implicit view to disenfranchise people. Well it worked chum. If you’ve been reading the blog for a while, you should know where my politics sit… Fuck the Tories… and so I used a tactical voting website yesterday to see who had the best chance of winning in my area against the Tories and I voted for them. Caveat – I would never vote for a party that was on the ‘right’ of the Tories and would only vote for a party that was centre-ish. Anyway, Labour won the by-election in Blackpool, obvious, and the Conservatives are losing local councillors. Final results pending.
And what did our government do last week and then earlier this week in the hope that it would sway some voters. They forced through their Rwanda legislation and then even though it’s not ready and planes won’t set off for weeks (if they even do), they started to ’round up’ asylum seekers for detention, ready to be deported. The fucking ghouls that this government are. They’re a stain on our worldwide reputation. And they filmed it and put it out on Home Office social media as if it was something we should be proud of. I’m sick of it. Call a general election now.
Eurovision. I have to say, it’s not for me. I know some people love it and some people loathe it. I suppose I have a general indifference to it. And please don’t get me wrong, I’m not trashing it, because it has become a beloved institution and that’s important to some people and they should be able to enjoy it without feeling like others are belittling it. With what I’ve written about above, it’s a way for us to show that we can come together and unite under one banner with our brothers and sisters in Europe and do something fun. The politics of it interest me though. Shocker I know! But it’s interesting how some countries always score according to age old grudges, or new ones that came about due to a referendum in 2016. And look, if it’s your thang baby, have at, go nuts. Have a glass of vino for me.
