Angela Rayner

Angela Rayner is a Labour Member of Parliament, Deputy Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Secretary of State. I’m not particularly drawn to her on a personal level, however as a politician, from what I’ve witnessed, she’s an adult who cares for others and seems to want to help her constituents. She comes across as loud and brash, but I quite like this when it comes to speaking in parliament. She seems honest and speaks plainly. She also recently called Tory MPs ‘scum’ and I was not very keen on that, as it just doesn’t help when trying to reach across the divide in parliament in the spirit of getting shit done.

You may have seen a disgusting, misogynistic and base article published by a certain Sunday newspaper which shall not be named. This shit rag is not fit to be used as toilet paper on a good day but this article was the lowest form of attack. It claimed that Rayner uses her ‘feminine wiles’ to try and distract our Prime Minister, Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson, in the Commons. She is a human being, who is fortunate enough to have legs and sometimes, as humans are wont to do, shifts position when seated. If you want to understand more of what was said, you can click on the button below for one of the BBC’s articles, because there’s no fucking way I’d promote that shite directly:

To be fair to our current government, our Prime Minister has called the article ‘sexist tripe’ and Conservative whips have said that if they find out who the MP is who gave these quotes for the article, disciplinary action will be taken. There were also many Conservative MPs who condemned the article. However the newspaper seemed to double down with another article during the week, backing up their musings from the weekend. They maybe need to get a little taste of the mood and just stop, apologise and move on.

The article also contended that Rayner was no match for Johnson’s Oxford Union debate training. I don’t know about you, but I’ve seen Rayner wipe the floor with Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab at PMQ’s. Rayner and Johnson clashed at PMQ’s in January of this year. I think she won on points and I think she’d run rings round Johnson and leave his metaphorical nose bloody on the regular. It would certainly spice up PMQ’s anyway. And if Johnson is so easily distracted, then he definitely shouldn’t be Prime Minister. It’s almost like he’s renowned for his sexual incontinence, what with him having multiple wives, mistresses and children and therefore this abhorrent prejudice is ok.

A few things in closing. This article makes me angry for the obvious reasons. It’s the gutter, sewage, rank. It makes me happy and quite positive because it means that the Tories are on the decline. If this is what they stoop to for their lines of attack, then they truly are scraping the bottom of the barrel and they’re coming up with fish guts. And it makes me think they’re a little scared of Rayner as well. And it makes me sad because when is this going to end? When are human beings going to stop being prejudiced against other human beings? I thought we’d gotten past these crass, low judgements. Why can’t someone be judged on their words and actions? And there’s no fucking way a male member of parliament would be subject to this kind of ambush, spouting bollocks about waggling his bulge at opposing MPs.

If you want to know more about Angela Rayner in her own words, then this podcast is pretty good:

PS – Found this from Private Eye which made me snort.
