Looking Back Over 2022

In my first blog post of 2022, I wrote, ‘It’s going to be a fun year.’ And you know, all considering, most of it has been. This blog continues to help my sanity. It helps me think things through and order thoughts and formulate opinions. And it gives me a chance to spout off, shove it all out into the ether and then forget about it. Every now and then someone will message me with their opinion or agreement or lets me know they’ve read the blog and it always surprises me, makes me a little embarrassed that they’ve read my posts and then settles into a feeling of warmth. So… thanks.

I’ve had three guest authors on the blog this year: Jo, Chris and John. I want to thank them for their contributions, they are most welcome. And I hope they come back next year and write again. I really want to encourage more of you to write for the blog, so get in touch, don’t be shy. It’s fairly painless and if you like you can be anonymous.

This is the 50th post of the year. I’ve written about plays what I was in, plays what I saw (there’s a theme there), about being curious, politics, resentment, loneliness, my war on the war on woke, abortion and how we control our borders. Most importantly this year, I wrote about my Dad who died in September. His post garnered over 230 views, weirdly enough the same amount of people that was at his cremation. And this year again, I’ve had readers from all over the world not just here at home – U.S.A., Ireland, Italy, Australia, China, France, Hong Kong, Isle of Man and Greece. Blows my tiny little mind. And I’ve had some posts that not a lot of you have read, so my least viewed post is – Controlling Our Borders – Part 2 – Long Read – which is weird because it’s the second part of a four parter! Anyway, you can read it here, give it a go, it feels sad:
