Major Update

Stand to attention! An update is upon us. Polish your boots and shine your belt buckle.

I’m moving into my new home very very soon. Everything has been exchanged and signed off. I’m very excited. I just want to say a massive THANKS MUM! who has had to put up with me for the last couple of years whilst I’ve dithered and waited for the right house to come along. And it did. I have loved my time living with Mum again but it’ll be great to have a space of my own. I’m constantly planning on what I want to do with it and how I want to make the house my own home. It’ll be awesome to finally put some of those plans into action. I think the thing I’m most excited to complete is my living room. I’m planning to cover it in animals and have my own zoo. I’ll have to name all the creatures as well.

I’m enjoying rehearsing the play Things I Know to be True. We’ve just finished the final proper week of rehearsals and we have final dress rehearsals on Sunday. It’s always great to work with lovely people I’ve worked with before and to meet new people and make new friends. As I’ve mentioned in past posts the crew of people that volunteer their time to make us lot on stage acting look amazing is immense and we had a lovely cast and crew photo taken by our resident photographer Peter Crowe.

When you look at this photo of twenty-one people, only six are actors. The other fifteen are warriors that work tirelessly to make everything run smoothly. And this photo doesn’t include all the lovely folks who will volunteer their time during show week, greeting audience members, tending the bar and making tea. It really does take a village.

I don’t have room or the finger strength to highlight everyone, but one person I’d like to say a quick ‘nice one’ to is Diana, our prompt. It’s a solitary task and a thankless one. Diana is positioned in the wings and can’t see half of the action on stage and so has to make an educated guess sometimes on when someone needs a prompt. And her job is thankless because no actor wants to receive a prompt and we, as actors, do sometimes get a little snippy when we’re getting prompts because we don’t want to believe that we don’t know our lines. So, thank you Diana, you are appreciated.

And to finish, you can still get tickets to the play what I’m in next week. Everyone is working hard and it’s shaping up to be a corker. Click on the button below to get your tickets now:
