Hello one and all. Bit of an update post this week. Every now and then I post some photos of stuff I’ve been looking at recently. I realised in the summer that I don’t use my phone camera enough. Now I don’t want to become obsessed with having my phone in front of my face all the time, taking videos or pictures, but if I see something nice like or interesting, I should probably snap a quick pic. I believe I’ve taken some interesting photos and I’m going to share.
As you may have seen on the news, we’ve been recently blessed with some Northern Lights. The other day, my neighbour text me the pic to the right and told me to get outside. It was after 9pm and I was in my pyjamas so I quickly dressed and hurried out. I took the picture above from my driveway. It was stunning on camera, but quite dull in real life. The eye couldn’t quite make out all the vivid colours but my phone camera did. I’m sure all the unnatural light in the area didn’t help. I sent the pic to my other neighbour who unfortunately wasn’t at home and later that week he brought round a print of the pic so I’m having it framed and I’ll put it up in my office at home. He’s so sweet.
I went to a comedy gig recently in Birmingham. I’ve mentioned the Exploding Heads before, you can follow them on Twitter (fuck Elon Musk.) They’re a comedy sketch duo that do political and football based gags. They have a podcast called Sports Horn which is a parody sports talk radio show. I think they’re bloody brilliant. I got a ticket and took myself off to the Midlands Art Centre just across the road from Edgbaston. It was a fun night. I took the pic below left in the toilet. Bit weird having my phone out in the toilet, but I was ensconced in a cubicle and my phone was on silent so you couldn’t tell I was taking a photo. Also the pic below right is the lovely souvenir I got from the show. As I was sitting on the front row, one of the gents handed me a signed photo from the character he was portraying. It’s a bit niche, but something that is special to me and I’m sure not a lot of these exist in the world. It’s not worth anything like, but I have one and it makes me smile.
I work in an office. I like my office, it’s the coldest in the premises which suits me and I’m close to my colleagues who I need to speak to all the time as I have to wander through their office to get to mine. However there are times when I have to go and visit customers to measure up or install a job. Over the summer I was installing a job in Cambridge at one of the prestigious colleges. I took the two photos below whilst there. It’s a stunning place and I can only imagine the pride one must feel if you study there. There’s a sort of weight of intelligence which seems to make the place heavy though. Not sure I would have coped.
