200

Yay me! I made it to 200. Actually this is my 204th post. I missed the boat on marking the 200th properly. Shrug. I don’t know. I had the best of intentions of marking the 200th edition with some fanfare and then I got lost in other stuff and it just sailed past. But we can pretend together ok? You’ll be my accomplice in this fiendish deceit. Sooooooo 200. What a number. Double 100 and half of 400. Anyone else realised that I’m just padding here? Not quite 250.

There are some weeks when I don’t really know where the blog is going. I don’t know what I want to write and I start a post and just see where it goes. Quite like this one. It still makes me smile when I see the stats for the blog and see that people actually read this shit. I get a little warm feeling inside. And when I write posts like last week’s post, on an issue that I’ve been mulling over for some time, I feel better inside to get it out of my brain. I still can’t believe that I’ve published over 200 posts. With obviously some great help from some friends and family. I really do enjoy it when someone emails me a post to publish. I get to read it, edit a little and proudly put it out to the world.

And I am proud of my little corner of opinions. My little abridgED to the world. Since the start I’ve played down the blog when speaking to new people about it. I even did it in the above paragraph. I called the blog ‘shit.’ Always using terms that are negative and make it seem more inconsequential to me than it is. ‘It’s only a silly little thing I do every week.’ ‘No one reads it except Mum.’ Hi Mum! But I’ve been at this for four years and over 200 flipping posts so it can’t be that unimportant to me. I always thought that it might be a platform to become something more, but I haven’t quite had the idea or energy to put the effort in to morph it into something else. So for now, my blog marks 200 posts and I am proud to get to this milestone.
