My loves, it has been awhile. I have not posted since Friday 10 July and I am very sorry that you haven’t had any of my mad, inane scribblings since then. Mea culpa. Some fancy Latin there for you. I must have been studying in the last few weeks… or not. In actuality I have been mega busy with work and also outside of work. My lovely friend from up north, came to the RSC in Stratford upon Avon with me and Emily. More importantly her daughter who is learning about Shakespeare at school came with and we went to see a A Midsummer Night’s Dream at The Other Place Theatre. A co production with Unicorn Theatre – the UK’s leading children theatre. It was a great show, lots to watch, some interesting choices and great young actors. She loved it.

Whilst on a fitting job in Oxford on one of the hottest and sweatiest days of the year, I had a break at lunch and there was a suspicious crowd forming outside the big iron gates to the College. We asked the gaggle of police what was occurring and they said the King was abound. Out stepped the regal cypher, waving to the small crowd gathered there. I got a quick snap for me Mum and to prove that I had once actually seen him in real life.
Another day, another morning spent at a College, this time in Cambridge, hanging curtains. It seems like that’s all we do in summer. Apart from work, I’ve been to the cinema and theatre lots. I would recommend Operation Mincemeat, a musical. There’s a UK tour and it’s on in the West End at the moment. A fun, fast paced musical about a true story during WWII.
