The Cuckoo Clock

Something a little different this week and next week. I would like to draw your attention to two of my friends and the blogs they are getting off the ground. This week, my awesome friend Jo.

Jo and I met acting. Well I was acting and she was the organisational master Stage Manager, ensuring we were all in the right place at the right time with the right props. I can’t remember what we bonded over initially but since then we’ve been fast friends, enjoying trips to the theatre and cinema together. Jo wrote a post for abridgED way back in May 2022 and you can read it here by clicking on the button below.

Now Jo is a cinema ninja. She has an MA in Film, Television and Screen Media and always astounds me with what she knows about the movies. And she works for the British Film Institute in their archives. She’s serious about this shit. And she has an unhealthy obsession with Nicholas Cage. Look we can’t all be cool all of the time.

Currently she has written an introductory post and her first post on the film, Point Break. It’s a cracker. I’ve never seen Point Break, but I want to now and Jo’s writing style is funny, playful and insightful. Also I learnt a new rude phrase which I will definitely be using in the future. Thanks Jo!
